Everything’s Coming Up Walter

In yesterday's post, I mentioned the once-inspiring career of Walter Hill.

Then yesterday evening, I watched the excellent first episode of "Deadwood", and discovered that it was directed by... Walter Hill!

Then this morning, I learned that Sunday's telecast of the first part of the miniseries "Broken Trail" was the evening's highest-rated program... and read that it too was directed by Walter Hill!

It looks like Hill has managed a full recovery from 2000's sci-fi bomb Supernova, from which he asked that his name be removed (the credited director is the nonexistent "Thomas Lee"). Let's hope he doesn't use his regained clout to embark on a sequel to Red Heat.
