Running Scared

5.5/10. Watched this Friday evening on DVD.

The script is solid, and so is the cast (Vera Farmiga, currently winning praise for her performance in The Departed, makes a particularly strong impression). Too bad, then, about Wayne Kramer's hopped-up direction. Why every other scene has to be a showcase for Kramer's technical proficiency, I don't know, but the movie as a whole suffers for it.
