Derailed

5/10. Watched this Friday evening on DVD.

The third act reminded me of The Sentinel, where when the protagonist needs to become a clever man of action, his adversaries suddenly become stupider and countless dei ex machinas give him a hand.

Good thing, then, that cast and crew take this redundant modern noir seriously, so that when the end comes, we don't entirely feel that watching it was time misspent.
