Where the Sidewalk Ends

8/10. Watched this yesterday on DVD.

I've decided to embark on a mini Otto Preminger festival, starting with this terrific film noir from 1950.

Dana Andrews is the rogue-cop son of a criminal father, whose lack of self-control causes him to upend a sure-thing investigation of his most-loathed nemesis and disrupt his burgeoning love affair with Gene Tierney. When the story resolves itself, it does so with class and morality.
