Ghosts of Mars

5.5/10. Watched this Monday evening recorded from TSR1.

The movie’s “heavy metal” take on horror is cringe-inducing, both in the conception of its monsters and its soundtrack. Yet, while Ghosts of Mars doesn’t compare to the masterpieces John Carpenter turned out in the 70s and 80s, it is a somewhat successful return to the innovative and economical style that made those movies so effective and memorable.
