Sunshine

7.5/10. Saw this on March 19 at the BFI Southbank in London.

There’s a lot to enjoy about Sunshine -- especially if, like me, you lament the lack of serious science-fiction movies out there. Too bad, then, that it’s all so beholden to the movies that inspired it. If you’ve seen 2001, Solaris, Alien -- and, yes, Event Horizon -- then Sunshine will leave you with a strong sense of déjà vu. So, a qualified recommendation.
