Based on the true story of a WWI veteran's fight for freedom, I Am a Fugitive shows that message movies need not be dull, telling its story with the brisk pace of a crime movie. Paul Muni, who appears in nearly every shot, is outstanding, and the look on his face during the movie's final seconds will haunt you.
