Sufficiently funny and engaging, but those expecting an inside peek at the fashion industry and those who abate it -- or even a Noughties take on Swimming With Sharks -- will be disappointed. Instead, Prada ends up as a disconcerting portrait of career-driven women and the men who don't accept them as they are. The moment when Anne Hathaway apologizes to her boyfriend belongs in a movie from the Eisenhower era.
