Red Road

7.5/10. Saw this yesterday afternoon at the Kellerkino in Bern.

The feature debut of
Andrea Arnold, whose short movie "Wasp" won an Oscar, Red Road is a thriller of sorts about a CCTV operator who, for reasons unclear, starts stalking a man she sees on one of her monitors.

Once its secrets are revealed, the movie has nowhere to go and rushes through an awkward denouement. However, for at least 90 minutes, this is as tense and suspenseful as movies get. Arnold is one to watch.
