"Masters of Horror: Pick Me Up"

7/10. Watched this last Saturday afternoon on DVD.

Stacia (Fairuza Balk) gets caught up in a turf war between two serial killers (Warren Kole and the inimitable Michael Moriarty). As is to be expected from director Larry Cohen (who wrote and produced Maniac Cop) "Pick Me Up" is not without its share of dark humor and satire. Yet the movie -- part of Showtime's "Masters of Horror" series -- achieves a sense of menace that escalates as Stacia's fate is gradually sealed.
